Saw this on Moda Bake Shop and thought I would make it as a gift. The fabric just came today so I can’t wait to get started. Mill House Inn by Fig Tree Quilts. It’s going to be a fun project!
My disappearing nine-patch. My first official quilt! I used Moda’s Natures Notebook. Time to square it up, sew it up and slap a border around it. I’m thinking of a dark blue border.

Wow. Glad this week is over. Meetings & presentations all week long. Time to relax for the weekend. Picked up my new iPhone today. Can’t wait to download all my tunes on it. Been playing with it all afternoon so have to fully charge it up now. It was funny. My husband and I walk into the phone store knowing exactly what we want. I want this phone, he want’s that phone, He wants this set up, I want that headset. Bada Bing out the door. Almost. Until the question “and which case do you want?” Are you kidding me? There are a zillion cases available for the iPhone. Soft case, hard case, black, white, purple, pink, blue, gray, red, color your own. Now, I’m a quilter. It takes me 2 hours to browse a fabric store looking at all the pretty colors. I decide on a pink case. Then change my mind. No, I better get the black one, it will go with all my outfits. “But honey” Dear Husband says “You have a lot of purple in the closet, get the purple one” . I finally walk out with a pretty blue one. Knowing full well that I’ll probably go back tomorrow and get another color. And probably end up with one for every outfit.

I’m working on a disappearing nine-patch. I’m using charms of Natures Notebook by April Cornell for MODA. When finished it should be a nice throw.
I’m having a secret love affair with fabric. I can’t seem to stop buying it. Fat quarters, charms, jelly rolls, scraps, I don’t care, I love them all. I get started on one project and another fabric bundle catches my eye and I gotta have it. So I start dreaming of another project using that print, or that color, or that pattern. It’s enough to drive a girl insane! So I thought I would create this blog as a kind of therapy for my new addiction…Hi my name is Lori and I’m a quilter.
Here’s my first quilt. It’s only the top and not finished yet, but I had so much fun making it using fabric that friends gave me.
