I had never tried the combination of pinto beans and fried potatoes until one of my friends, who lives in Texas told me to. She said that the correct way to eat this dish is to crumble the cornbread up in a bowl of pinto beans and, eat it with a serving of home-fried potatoes, with a slice of raw onion on the side. Very delish :)

I wanted to drop by and let you know that we're excited to have you one Livefyre. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you've any questions. We'll be happy to help in any way we can!

That's sounds so good. And a lot of work! I remember my mom doing all that punching and rolling when making biscuits. Another thing I wish I new how to make! Biscuits and gravy.

For fried bread, mom would prepare bread dough as if she were making a loaf of bread, letting it raise once. After she punched it down, she would pinch off golfball sized pieces, stretch them out, and fry on both sides on a greased griddle. Slather with butter and jam, yum!

Thanks for sharing!
